Assocostieri is Association of energetic terminals.
It is member of Confindustria and of Confindustria Energia.
Assocostieri, the Association of energy terminals was established in Rome February 24, 1983 at the initiative of some businessmen who wanted to give life to an organization different from others than to protect more effectively the unique role of the primary distribution within domestic market.
To Assocostieri participate companies operating in the field of mineral oils, chemicals and LPG for a total independent storage capacity approximately of 5.000.000 cubic metres, as well as companies producing biodiesel, bioethanol and LGN.

The Federation European Tank Storage Associations based in Brussels was established on the initiative of the same Assocostieri to bring together in one central organization all the associations operating in the European logistics sector, to safeguard their interests in the European competent committees.
Assocostieri defends the interests of member companies towards political and technical national Administrations, Institutional Authorities and international Authorities, on logistic terminals and biofuels.
The Association's activity takes place through relationship, contacts meeting, participation in working groups set up by the Government and Authorities, on fiscal, technical, safety, security, maritime, environmental matters, in order to support the interests of associated companies.
It is also an extensive training for the associates on all legislation of interest, highlighting the aspects most relevant to the activities of member companies. Providing interpretation and consultation activities with the institutions in case of doubts of interpretation.
The Association in recent years in order to facilitate the enforcement of environmental laws and very complicated for both operators and regulators, has developed with the help of the technicians of the associated companies and with external experts, the characterization of the field through the provision of guidelines approved by the technical bodies which the institutional and ANPA Committee Ecoaudit and Ecolabel in relation to:
- Safety management;
- Remediation of contaminated sites;
- EMAS
The Association can also cure the problems of individual members as long as these do not adversely affect the interests of other members and may become in the future of general interest.
The mission of the Association is:
- to protect companies properly constituted, the holders of decrees for the year in granting terminals and / or tax and companies working in logistics for petroleum products, chemicals, petrochemicals and LPG.
- to reperesent the category for its recognition and its exploitation towards public administration and other associations, national and international economic organizations, defending their interests.

Enrollment to Assocostieri entails an obligation for member companies of the payment of ordinary and extraordinary, the observance of the bylaws and code of ethics adopted by the Association and Confindustria, to observe all provisions of the Code of Ethics and standards regularly deliberated by affiliates.
