Inail Isi Call for Proposals: 2017 Incentives for Workplace Safety
€249,406,358 has been allocated for the current year to incentivize businesses to implement measures to improve workplace health and safety. Investment projects and projects for the adoption of organizational and social responsibility models are eligible.
These incentives are open to businesses, including individual businesses, registered with the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Crafts and Agriculture.
The European and national context, especially in a recessionary environment, offers numerous investment opportunities with various types of subsidies to businesses for a wide range of projects and programs. The European Union, for example, allocates such benefits to various sectors such as research, health, environmental protection, etc., supporting which it has allocated €975 billion for the period 2007-2013 alone (source: European Commission).
Among the various categories of subsidies that public bodies at various levels (EU, national, and local) make available to businesses, the following are noteworthy:
- Non-repayable grants: these are aids provided to businesses with the aim of reducing investment or management costs or even supplementing a company’s revenue;
- subsidized loans: these aim to reduce the financial costs applied to loans granted to cover certain investments, through access to financing at more favorable conditions than market ones;
- equity participation: interventions whereby public authorities acquire a minority stake or grant equity loans or financing repaid following the capitalization of the company;
- Tax incentives: tax benefits that can translate into the recognition of a tax credit or a tax exemption on profits through a reduction in taxable income or an increase in tax losses.
